Notes to our Dean and/or emails to Dave:

Thanks again, Dave, for an amazing trip.  You were great!  It was an incredible experience for me, as an individual and as a photographer.  It provided awesome opportunities that wouldn't have been possible otherwise. Please let me know about future trips!  Stacy

Dear Dave--  I can't say enough great things about the EuroFoto class that my daughter and I participated in this past summer.  You did a tremendous job of organizing the trip, preparing us in advance, and following through afterward.  The pre-trip class sessions were extremely beneficial for us neophytes as well as for the more seasoned photographers.  The trip itself was so well thought-out.  These were Annie's first college classes and she learned a great deal.  We want to be included in all your future emails about new trips so we can hopefully participate again. Patsy

Hi Dave.  I so thoroughly enjoyed the trip last year, I want to go with you again this year!  Put me down as a YES!  Regards, Swapan

Dave,  Nicky received a strong background in photography from your on-campus course and then the EuroFoto trip with you.  With the portfolio she produced, she has been accepted to the UNT photography program with advanced status.  A huge compliment to her and you!  Thank you, Jayme (Nicky's Mom)

Dave, We want to thank you again for organizing an incredible Italy and Paris trip for the photography students. You ALWAYS kept ALL of us so well informed, every step of the way.  Ryan had such a great time and grew by leaps and bounds. He also developed his photography skills to the next level.  As a Mom (and an overprotective one at that), I should not have worried for a second about my 20 yr. old abroad.  He said that you were so good about doing head counts and being there for questions and all, letting them explore on their own and in groups without you, all the while maintaining a great sense of humor.  We parents thank you SOOOOO much.  As a side bonus, we got some awesome photos from his trip.  Ryan entered two in the State Fair Photo Competition and won a First and a Third!!!  Wow!  We were thrilled because he won over hundreds of other photos. Please let us know about future trips.  Sincerely,  Kellie & Ron (Proud Parents!)

Dave,  My daughter Katie had such a wonderful experience on the photography trip. She learned so much every day and it actually gave her a direction to pursue in her studies.   It was well run, she worked very, very hard when she got back to complete the portfolio, and was so excited about doing it.   I think it was a fabulous opportunity!   Thank you, Donna

Dear Dave: The Europe trip this summer was a life-changing experience for our son.  Not only did he learn a great deal about photography, but he learned so much about other cultures, about being a guest in a foreign country, and about getting along in a group.  As parents, we felt comfortable sending him with you because you are such a seasoned traveler.  He had enough freedom to feel like an adult, but we knew there was enough structure to the trip that he was "well taken care of."  As a result of the trip, he is seriously considering majoring in photography and perhaps getting a minor in foreign languages.  Thanks for opening his eyes. Sincerely, Georgiana

Unlike most teachers, Dave manages to make the learning atmosphere something more than just lectures and projects. He makes them life experiences. He constantly shows and expresses his knowledge of photography and leaves a clear understanding of the subject matter. He is good-natured, patient, intelligent, and demanding. All attributes that I admire and respect in an outstanding instructor. Camila

Dave is an AMAZING instructor. He is always willing to listen and explain things clearly and thoroughly. He is able to look at a photograph and know everything about it - almost to the point that it's scary.  Dave's passion for photography and teaching his students is obvious to everyone in his class and he always gives you his full attention.  He takes the extra time to help with anything that's needed, including helping me a great deal with a photo project I needed to do outside of class.  He is definitely one of the most knowledgeable and friendly teachers I've ever met.  Sumit

Dave's love of photography and teaching is extraordinarily evident.  In the lab, other instructors' students would consistently comment on how Dave's expertise and willingness to help stood out from other faculty members.  His teaching style fosters creativity.  His lessons are structured but he welcomes questions.  He is approachable and available to all students.  I took photography for fun, after completing my Bachelor's degree.  I would rank Dave Eichinger at the top of all the professors I've had.  He's an incredible asset to this college.  Jessica
